10/20: What is a Gulch?

I read http://www.survivalblog.com/ on a regular basis. I found the following article about "gulches" buried in some other information:

Perhaps we should call this the New View Gulch? Hmmm.... doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

A quick "google" for gulch showed basically the definitions we've known for a while, i.e. ravine or to gulp greedily. I think, for now, we'll stick with New View Group Retreat and Community, or something similar.
